To join this expedition, you must have either participated in a previous WOR trip or complete a short phone interview prior to registration.
📍 Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Meet in Truckee & First Lakeside Camp
- Rendezvous in Truckee, CA for trip check-in.
- Drive to our first lakeside campsite.
- Evening paddleboarding, kayaking, and campfire social.
Day 2 – Lake Hopping Adventure
- Scenic drive to a second alpine lake campsite.
- Ample free time to swim, paddle, or relax on the shore.
- Sunset views over crystal waters.
Day 3 – Into the Mountains
- Transition into the high country.
- Camp at an epic mountain overlook, surrounded by meadows and peaks.
- Stargazing and community dinner at camp.
Day 4 – Lakeside Relaxation & Showers
- Descend into another beautiful lakeside campsite.
- A lighter driving day with time to relax.
- WOR will provide mobile hot showers throughout the day for anyone who wants them.
Day 5 – Volcanic Backcountry Exploration
- Enter the dramatic Lassen backcountry.
- Traverse vast lava flows, domes, and rugged volcanic terrain.
- Stop at a remote observatory, one of the best dark-sky locations for stargazing.
Day 6 – Fire Lookouts & Meadows → Trip’s End
- Morning drive through fire lookouts, volcanic meadows, and elevated views.
- Conclude near Manzanita Lake Campground in Lassen National Park.
- We recommend extending your adventure with a self-guided scenic drive through Lassen’s famous National Park Road before heading home.
