Meet Your Instructor: Oleg Flaxman
With over 20 years of off-road experience, Oleg has driven nearly every difficult trail in the United States — from the rugged backroads of New Jersey to the legendary rock gardens of California, often tackling the same routes multiple times to perfect his skills.
For the past 6 years, Oleg has focused on overlanding, combining technical driving with long-distance adventure travel. Most recently, he completed a 60-day expedition to Alaska with his wife and two young children (ages 4 and 6). Covering over 12,500 miles total and 3,000 miles of off-road terrain.
Beyond driving, Oleg brings a wealth of real-world rescue and safety experience. As a Mountain Search and Rescue member for 7 years, he has taught alpine and technical rescue skills to teams and individuals in demanding environments.
Oleg is also the founder of Kinetic-X, a company dedicated to designing and manufacturing innovative recovery gear for off-roaders. Through Kinetic-X, he has spent the last 4 years teaching safe and effective recovery techniques, training everyone from first-time drivers to seasoned adventurers.
Today, he combines his passion for overlanding, his background in rescue, and his deep technical knowledge to help others build the skills, confidence, and judgment they need to explore off-road safely.
